Backgammon

One of the oldest board games still played, and this digital version keeps it exactly that plain: roll two dice, move your checkers around the board based on the numbers, and race to bear all of them off before your opponent does. There's more strategy in it than the dice-rolling suggests, since where you leave an exposed checker matters as much as how far you're able to move it — strand a single piece on a point by itself and an opponent's roll can send it all the way back. Play against another person locally or take on the computer instead; either way, a full game moves quickly once both sides know the rules.
