Blockbuster Puzzle takes the familiar idea of clearing lines with blocks and slows it down into something more thoughtful. Instead of pieces falling from the top, you're handed a small set of geometric shapes sitting off to the side of the board, and it's up to you to decide where each one goes. Line up your blocks so an entire row runs edge to edge with no empty squares, and that row clears itself, opening up room for the next round of shapes. There's no clock pushing you along, so you can study the board, plan two or three moves ahead, and figure out which shape actually completes a line versus which one just fills space without helping. Occasional jewel blocks add a small bonus for players chasing a higher score, and clearing more than one line at once bumps your total further. Because everything happens at your own pace, it works equally well as a five-minute puzzle break or a longer session where you're trying to beat your previous score.
How to play Blockbuster Puzzle
Getting started
- Look at the shapes waiting in the side panel next to the board.
- Click and drag a shape onto the grid, choosing a spot where it fits against the existing blocks.
- Keep placing shapes until one or more rows are completely filled with no gaps.
Clearing lines
- A row clears automatically the moment it's fully packed with blocks, edge to edge.
- Clearing two or more rows in the same move earns bonus points.
- Watch for blocks containing jewels — they add extra points when the line they're in clears.
Extra tools
- If you place a shape somewhere you regret, use undo to take it back.
- If the board gets too cluttered, you can clear it and start the current arrangement fresh.
Tips and strategy
Try to keep your rows as flat and even as possible instead of building tall, uneven stacks — a bumpy board makes it much harder to find a spot for the next oddly-shaped piece. Before dragging a shape into place, scan the whole board for the row closest to completion and prioritize finishing that one first, since a cleared line gives you breathing room everywhere else. It also helps to leave at least one column open on the side for long or awkward pieces rather than boxing yourself into a corner. When two shapes could both fit a gap, pick the one that also sets up a second line for a combo clear rather than the one that just fits the immediate space.
