Three overlapping pyramids of cards, one waste pile underneath, and a deck for when the board stops talking to you. Solitaire Story TriPeaks lays the peaks out and lets you take them apart.
TriPeaks is a different animal from Klondike. There are no foundations and no suits to worry about. You take any exposed card that is exactly one rank above or below the card showing on the pile, and a good run can strip an entire peak in a single unbroken chain.
How to play Solitaire Story TriPeaks
- Look at the card on the waste pile.
- Click any uncovered card in the peaks that is one rank higher or lower.
- That card becomes the new top of the pile, and you continue from it.
- Aces wrap around, so they connect both to kings and to twos.
- Draw from the deck when nothing on the board matches.
- Clear all three peaks to finish the level.
Chains
The scoring and the difficulty both hinge on chains. Every card played without touching the deck extends the run, and a long run is worth far more than the same cards played in pieces.
That makes the order of play more important than the cards themselves. Two paths may both be legal and only one of them keeps the chain alive.
Tips and strategy
Look before the first click
The obvious card is rarely the right one. Before you play anything, trace where each option leads: which card it uncovers, and whether that card continues the sequence.
Priorities
- Play the card that uncovers two cards rather than one.
- Work on the tallest peak first, since it takes the most moves to dismantle.
- Keep a route open on each peak instead of clearing one flat and stranding the others.
- Hold the deck in reserve. Every draw ends your chain.
Aces and kings
An ace is the most flexible card in the game because it links in both directions. Playing one early to clear a single card is usually a waste. Save it for the moment a chain would otherwise die.
Kings and twos are the cards that most often strand a run, so when you can see a route through one of them, take it while it exists.
Where players lose levels
- Clicking every legal card the moment it appears.
- Emptying the easiest peak first and finding the other two locked.
- Spending the deck early, so there is nothing left when the board finally jams.
