Jewels Blitz 4 is a match three set in a Mayan jungle, and it is a long one. More than six hundred levels, each with its own objective rather than a generic score target.
That objective structure is what separates it from an endless match three. One level wants you to break seals, another to bring relics to the bottom of the board, another to soothe a volcano. The gems are always the same, but what counts as a good move changes level to level, and playing every board the same way is the fastest route to running out of moves.
How to play Jewels Blitz 4
- Swap two neighbouring gems to line up three or more of the same colour.
- Matched gems clear and everything above them drops down.
- Match four or five, or make an L or T shape, to create a power gem.
- Power gems clear rows, columns or whole areas when triggered.
- Read the objective at the top of the screen. Meeting it, not clearing gems, is what finishes the level.
Daily missions and challenges run alongside the levels and pay out gold and items, which is where the boosters for the harder boards come from.
Tips and strategy
- Read the objective before your first move, every time. On a level that wants relics brought down, a match at the top of the board is worth more than a bigger match at the bottom.
- Play the lowest match available when you are not chasing something specific. Clearing low tiles cascades the whole board and often matches for free.
- Build power gems rather than spending them. Two ordinary matches that set up a five in a row are worth more than three separate threes.
- Do not trigger a power gem the moment you make one. Combining two of them next to each other clears far more than firing them separately.
- Save the boosters for levels with seals and obstacles. On an open board you rarely need them, and on a sealed board they are the difference between finishing and restarting.
