Gem-cut pieces in irregular shapes drop onto the board, and placing them so a solid line runs from one edge to the opposite edge is what clears them. There's no clock and nothing to dodge — the challenge is entirely about foresight, since one careless placement can block off the line you were building toward. Each new piece changes the board enough that a plan from two moves ago might not hold up.
