Mahjong Pyramids
Mahjong Pyramids
Mahjong Pyramids stacks its tiles into a pyramid shape rather than the flatter, sprawling layouts a lot of other mahjong solitaire games use, so most of the challenge is working from the top down to free pieces underneath before you can even consider matching them. That vertical structure changes the read on the board: a tile that looks accessible from above can still be locked in place by two others resting against its sides. A timer runs in the background, less punishing than in connect-style mahjong but present enough that idle scanning still costs you. The theming is mostly cosmetic, but if you like mahjong solitaire for the shape-reading over the setting, the pyramid is the real reason to pick this over a flatter board.
