Wander Words
Wander Words
Our free daily · new every day Findish A word search with a new theme every day Play Wander Words gives you a clue and a board of letters, and the answer uses every single one of them.
That rule is the whole game. In most word puzzles you pick the letters you need and ignore the rest. Here there is no rest. If your answer leaves a letter unused, it is wrong, no matter how well it fits the clue. It turns a vocabulary question into an arithmetic one, and the hardest part is usually not knowing the answer but working out where it starts.
How to play Wander Words
- A clue is shown above a board of scattered letters.
- Link the letters in order to spell your answer.
- Every letter on the board has to be used. Nothing is left over.
- A correct answer opens the next puzzle.
- There is a daily puzzle alongside the level set.
Because the letter count is fixed and visible, the board tells you the length of the answer before you have thought of a single word, which is more of a hint than it first seems.
Tips and strategy
- Count the letters before you read the clue twice. A nine letter answer and a six letter answer to the same clue are different words, and the count narrows it faster than the clue does.
- Find the awkward letters and work out where they can sit. A Q, a J or a doubled letter has very few legal positions in English, and pinning one of them often decides the whole answer.
- Look for a suffix in the letter pool. If the board contains ING, TION or NESS, build the ending first and solve the stem with what is left.
- Read the clue for part of speech. A clue phrased as a verb wants a verb, and that alone rules out half the words that fit the letters.
- Play the daily. The clue styles repeat, and a week of dailies teaches you the setter's habits faster than fifty levels will.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to use every letter in Wander Words?
Yes. The answer uses the entire board, so a word that fits the clue but leaves letters over is not the answer.
Is there a daily puzzle?
Yes. A new puzzle is published each day alongside the main level set.
How do I know how long the answer is?
By counting the letters on the board. Since all of them are used, the letter count is the answer length.
Is Wander Words free?
Yes. It runs in the browser with nothing to install and no account.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Link the letters with a finger in the same order you would with a mouse.
