Circus Words
Circus Words
Our free daily · new every day Findish A word search with a new theme every day Play Circus Words is a level based word finder with a big top wrapped around it.
Each level hands you a set of letters and a board of empty slots, and asks you to find everything hiding in there. The theme is decoration, and the game underneath is one of the most durable formats in word puzzles: a closed set of letters, complete information about what you are missing, and no clock.
What makes it worth playing over a hundred levels rather than five is the ramp. It opens easy enough to teach you the gesture and the reading habit, then quietly widens the letter sets until you are working properly.
How to play Circus Words
- Letters appear at the bottom of the screen.
- Drag through them to spell a word.
- Correct words drop into their slots on the board.
- Fill every slot to complete the level.
- Later levels give you more letters and more words to find.
The board is the hint
Every slot shows its length before you find the word. That is a substantial amount of information and most players ignore it, staring at the letters instead of at the shape of the problem.
Count the slots first. One long word and four short ones is a completely different puzzle from six of the same length, and it tells you where to start.
Working a closed set
Because the letters are fixed for the level, every word you find is built from the same pool. That means the answers are related to each other far more often than not, and finding one usually gives you two more if you look for the family rather than for a new word.
Tips and strategy
Openings
- Take the longest slot first if you can see it. It usually uses most of the letters and the shorter answers are its fragments.
- If the long word will not come, clear the three letter slots. They cost nothing and show which letters are spare.
- Read the letters out of order before deciding a level is impossible. Fixation on the arrangement in front of you is the usual reason a level stalls.
Building families
- Run S, ED, ER and ING through everything you have already found.
- Look for a prefix among the spare letters. RE, UN and IN convert a found word into another.
- A repeated letter almost always appears twice in the same answer.
What beginners get wrong
- Hunting for unusual words. The vocabulary stays ordinary throughout.
- Ignoring slot lengths and treating the level as an open word hunt.
- Long sessions. Recall drops off noticeably after ten or fifteen minutes of this.

Does it work on a phone?
