Mahjongg Candy
Mahjongg Candy is mahjong solitaire with sweets on the tiles instead of the traditional suits.
The swap is more useful than it sounds. Classic mahjong tiles are deliberately similar to each other, and telling one circle suit tile from another is a real part of the difficulty. Sweets are separate shapes in separate colours, which removes the recognition problem and leaves only the actual puzzle: which tiles are free, and in what order should they go.
It is a good entry point to mahjong for that reason, and a pleasant enough board for people who already play a lot of it.
- Sweets are stacked into a layout.
- Match two of the same type to remove the pair.
- Only tiles on the edge of the stack can be selected, meaning nothing on top and one side clear.
- Clear the whole layout to move to the next.
How to play Mahjongg Candy
What counts as free
A tile is selectable when nothing rests on top of it and either its left or right side is open. A tile with neighbours on both sides is locked even if you can see it perfectly.
That is the rule the whole game turns on, and the most common beginner error is reading the artwork rather than the geometry.
Order decides the board
Mahjong solitaire is won or lost in the opening moves. Clearing the convenient pairs first can bury the tiles you will need, and by the time you notice, the board is already unwinnable.

Tips and strategy
Choosing which pair
- Take from the top layers first. A tile lifted from the top frees several below. One taken from the end of a row frees one.
- With four identical sweets visible, decide which two to remove. The other two have to stay reachable.
- Prefer the match that opens tiles over the match that is simply easy to click.
Reading rows and stacks
- Long rows are queues. Only the two ends are available, so clear from the end that unlocks more.
- Tall stacks are the danger. Leave one until late and you will run out of matching partners for what is underneath.
Common mistakes
- Matching on sight without checking what it opens.
- Saving the central stack for last.
- Treating a visible tile as an available tile.
